Development and Military Usage History
Designed originally by Gordon Ingram at Military Armament Corporation, the MAC submachine gun family became one of the most iconic compact fully automatic firearm designs of the Cold War era. The SWD M11/9 was developed in the 1980s as a refined, open-bolt 9mm version of the original design. Engineered for high-volume fire and extreme reliability, these compact submachine guns were deployed and evaluated by security forces, specialized military units, and law enforcement agencies across multiple global conflicts during the late 20th century. Modern upgrades from manufacturers like Lage Manufacturing have cemented the M11/9 as one of the most versatile and highly sought-after transferable NFA platforms on the market today.
