History
The M69 Practice Hand Grenade was deployed by the U.S. Armed Forces to train recruits on the proper handling, weight, and deployment of the standard-issue M67 fragmentation grenade. Featuring a cast steel body with a hollowed base vent, the assembly allowed for repeated training use by attaching replaceable pyrotechnic practice fuzes. The accompanying M228 practice fuze safely simulated live-throw mechanics by emitting a small pop and smoke discharge upon activation.
