History & Context
Designed during World War II for British airborne troops, commando units, and armored vehicle crews, this specialized web carrier provided complete weather and debris protection for the 9mm Sten submachine gun. The integrated five-cell exterior pouch allowed gunners to carry a full loadout of 32-round stick magazines directly alongside the weapon during airborne drops or motorcycle dispatch duty.
