WWII German Walther G43 Gewehr 43 8mm Mauser – Original ZF4 Scope & Waffenamt Mount
Collector Description
WWII German G43 / Gewehr 43 semi-automatic rifle chambered in 7.92x57mm (8mm Mauser).
This example is receiver-marked “G.43” with the German wartime “ac” Walther manufacturer code and retains numerous military proof and inspection markings visible in the photographs.
Original WWII ZF4 Scope
The rifle is fitted with a WWII German Gw ZF4 4x telescopic sight marked:
Gw ZF 4
ddx
Blue triangle
The wartime “ddx” manufacturer code identifies Voigtländer & Sohn, one of the principal manufacturers of ZF4 optics. Period references document ddx as the Voigtländer code used on ZF4 scopes.
The blue triangle is a period marking associated with the lubricant/temperature specification of the optic.
The exterior lenses appear intact and present well for their age. Please examine the detailed photographs for the condition of the glass, body, adjustment controls, and finish.
Original WWII G43 Scope Mount
The scope is installed in an original WWII German G43 quick-detach scope mount.
The mount is:
• Waffenamt accepted
• Individually numbered
• Correct G43 quick-detach configuration
• Period German manufacture
Original G43 mounts are documented with Waffenamt acceptance markings, including WaA359 on Walther-associated mounts.
The mount should not be represented as matching to this rifle based on the information currently available.
Rifle Condition
The rifle presents very well overall for a WWII German military firearm.
The bore was inspected with a borescope and appears excellent, with a bright bore and strong, sharply defined rifling. No obvious significant pitting is visible in the provided borescope photograph.
The wood stock retains visible military markings/cartouches and displays age and handling characteristics consistent with a historical military rifle.
The bolt carrier is non-matching.
No representation is made that every component of the rifle is matching. The detailed photographs should be considered an important part of the description and document the rifle’s markings, stock, metal finish, optic, mount and individual components.

Historical Note
The G43 was Germany’s principal semiautomatic service rifle during the latter part of WWII. The ZF4 was the standard optic associated with scoped G43/K43 rifles, and surviving original rifles accompanied by genuine wartime optics and mounts are particularly interesting from a military-collecting standpoint.
