History & Background
Following World War II, Yugoslavia adopted the M53 Šarac machine gun—a direct reproduction of the German MG42 chambered in 8mm Mauser (7.92×57mm). To support these weapons, military arsenals produced and refurbished belt loading sets utilizing the original German Gurtfüller (Gurtfuller) design and machinery. This field set represents the Cold War Yugoslavian continuation of classic WWII German machine gun support equipment, designated for filling metallic belt links used in both M53 Šarac and legacy MG34/MG42 firearms.
